Kingston Great Common, Burley.

A beautiful walk near Burley today. Parking at the Smugglers Road car park (Vales Moor) on the Crow hill to Burley road, We crossed the road to Strodgemoor bottom and walked across the heathland on a well defined small, sandy path to reach a group of pine trees on a small hill on Kingston Great Common. The area of Cranes Moor is quite boggy this can be crossed but we decided to round the hill and cross the small stream to reach the wide path that passes church moor to long pond. A most beautiful area to explore.

Horton Common, Verwood.

Glorious walk up on Horton common this morning. I picked loads of blackberries and after 2 hours I finally saw someone out on their bike. It was just me and the sheep, cows and horses. Geese and buzzards and of course Phoebe. Lovely circular walk. One of my favourites.

Go to Dewland common, walk down Horton Lane, under the bridge, passed Bridge farm then continue on to Oakfield farm. Here you will see a junction of paths. Take the little wet path to your left. You can follow this up and over the common, taking a right at the next three turns to come back down the hill to Oakfield farm.

Potterne Park to Moors valley circuit.

A beautiful walk around the lakes and golf course from Potterne Park. What a beautiful afternoon it was. It's a great walk with a pushchair or little ones. Lots of picnic spots, birds and information to look at. Makes a lovely bike ride too on good surfaces. Also a great route for wheelchairs as it's surfaced well all the way around. Good parking at Potterne.

Linford bottom, Ringwood.

Linford bottom today, not much water in the stream at the moment but the heather is looking beautiful. Easy walk on either side of the stream. Takes about 30 minutes to an hour depending on whether walk with dogs or small children.
