Rockford common, Near Ringwood.

Rockford common near Ringwood today for a lovely walk. This walk starts from the NT car park (Free) at the sand pit near Moyles Court school. Take the take up the hill and keep right past the log piles in the open area. Lots of ponies up here. Our 2 year old granddaughter loved sliding on the icy puddles, but we also took her buggy for her as it was cold when we stopped for a coffee and a fairly long walk for a little one. There are good tracks all over this beautiful area. We came back along the edge the ridge with beautiful views down into the valley below, over the forest to the north and the Avon valley. This circuit takes around 30 -45 mins but much longer walks can be make along the ridge, making a larger circuit, taking 1 to 2 hours.

Rockford common and Moyles Court sandpit, Hants.

Rockford common for a beautiful walk with lovely views today. Park at the sandpit (NT car park) near Moyles court and walk up the hill above the sandpit, keeping right at the top. Walk to Appleslade and return on the ridge edge with lovely far reaching views.

Rockford Common from Linford Bottom.

Linford bottom and over Rockford common. Allow a couple of hours for a good wander and picnic. Easy walking. Wonderful views. Varied walk circular walk. From the car park walk up through the forest, keeping left as you climb up to reach the main track. Turn left and then take the track up to the heathland/grassland on the top. Keep right along the grassy path to reach Red shoot plain on Rockford common. Turning left take the Big Whitemoor bottom path with fine views over to Somerley house and Godshill. Following the little stream until it reaches a house. Turn left here and head up to a house called Sorrel wood. Pass the house with it to your right and then keep on the track leading away from the house. The track joins a tarmac road. Keep following this, then left down the hill past the house to your left. Soon you will reach the car park once more.
