Hengistbury Head, Dorset.
Hengistbury Head on a very different day today.
A lovely walk down to the beach, up on the cliff and back down to the spit beach.
Back along the little road, We had a two year old with us and cheated with a ride back to the Hikers cafe on the Noddy train.

Linford bottom, A walk in the New Forest, Hampshire.
Lovely 7am walk at Linford bottom this morning.
Along lower path to bridge and back through the forest track. Takes about an hour.

Redman's Hill, Verwood, Dorset.
Beautiful 7am walk.
Over Dewlands common,Bridge Farm, up Redmans hill, Monmouth ash farm knob's crook and back to bridge farm.
Beautiful circular walk. Easy. takes about 2 hours from central Verwood. 5m.

Canford Heath, Near Poole, Dorset.
A lovely walk at Canford Heath. A lovely spot for a family walk or picnic.
Lovely views of the Purbecks and Poole harbour.
Lots of pretty paths through the pine woods and on the heathland. We walked for about 1h30 and found a great picnic spot with a beautiful view too.

A lovely walk in Ringwood forest, from the Chase. Dorest.
A lovely walk in Ringwood forest, from the Chase today.
Start at the Chase car park and walk up the main path, go under the pylons and continue on the track that heads a little up hill.
When it reaches the stream turn right up the little path that heads off into the pine woods.Keep on this path until it joins another forest track and turn right.
Then turn left onto main track and walk back down to the path that come up from the Chase. A very nice walk to do with small children and dogs.

Chemin de la Memoire, Rouvials, near Premian a walk in the Languedoc
Chemin de la Memoire, Rouvials, near Premian. Easy, 5.6km. Blue markers. Take the D176E5 from Premian to Rouvials and park on the bend just before the hamlet.
Walk up to the hamlet and take the forest track as it winds to the left up hill. At a bend turn right and you will pass the first house used by the resistance during WW2. It's only a ruin but all part of the history of this delightful trail.
At the next bend you come to a hut near a stream, where you turn right again, taking the middle path. Head down the nice little shaded trail which passes the second stone house dedicated to the men of the resistance.
This one had a roof, table and fireplace, it gives a good idea of what it must have been like for those hiding there. The track descends to join another path where you turn left and reach a beautiful view of the valley on one side and the mountain on the other.
Shortly you will return to the road where you will find your car. A super little walk for a hot day. A beautiful deer strayed onto the road just as we were parking our car.
