A circuit of La Coste, St Martin and the gorge d'Heric.

A beautiful little walk today. 1H 4.5km. Very easy. I started in old Mons but if you are going to the gorge and have a dog with you, this is a walk that you might like to do.

After walking into the gorge, turn right on the little footbridge, then right again following the yellow markers along the river and through the woods to La Coste. Go through La Coste and continue following the yellow markers on a little concrete track across the vineyards and into the chestnut woods.

Don't take the blue marker to the left, just a few paces away is one to your right going down through the woods. At the bottom you will reach the road but just to your right is a little track leading up to the voie verte. Turn right onto greenway and walk through the tunnel.

Just before the bridge you will see a picnic table and beside this is a tiny path that puts you onto the track leading up to La Coste. You can track either track the one to your left or the one that goes straight up, they both take you back to La Coste and the footpath back to the gorge.

(An alternative is to continue on the greenway until you are over the bridge and then take the little blue path that goes up through woods beside the river back to the car park at the gorge). A good one when the gorge is busy as it's nice and shady.
