South Bank walk. London.

After seeing the fireworks last night we Walked by the river this morning. A new year but so many old stories in a wonderful old city. I had to laugh about the story of the wealthy ferry owner who faked his death to save money and ended up frightening one of his servants in doing so, so they killed him by mistake. His daughter so distraught that she calls for her lover who falls off his horse and breaks his neck. So said is she that she gives all her money to the poor in a convent that she builds and becomes a saint. London is a fascinating place full of such places and stories.
This is one of London's most fascinating historical walks, past the old prison and Winchester Palace.
