Potterne wood to Crane lake and up through Potterne park.
A morning walk from Potterne wood to Crane lake and up through Potterne park, then over to the center of the village. Starting from the Potterne Wood Close pylon I headed off along the bridleway beside the little water channel. This path comes out in Ebblake Close and after turning the corner I followed the bridleway between the houses to cross the little bridge. This area is Ebblake bog. I love it over here, it has a love wild feel about it. Follow the path around to a small gate on your right and take this path across the bog and though the pines to reach another gate near the golf course. Turn right and go over the bridge to reach the lake. The swans are very active at the moment. After the lake cross the bridge and when you reach the next bridge you can either go right to return to the pylon again or continue on to Potterne as I did by crossing the next bridge. Once in the park keep right around the edge of the park and cross the bridge. If returning to the Potterne wood close pylon turn right here.(Takes about 50 minutes) If continuing to the village center turn left. The path follows the River Crane around the Verwood road, where you turn right again. If you want to go to Dewlands/schools as I did take the first little bridleway on the left to reach Howe Lane (takes 1H 15mins).
