Redmans hill and Horton Common, Verwood.

Lovely local walk this morning on the south side of Verwood taking about an hour. Taking the route along side Dewlands common on Horton Lane, you pass under the old railway bridge, past Bridge Farm and the Crane and when you reach the point where the small lane bear right, continue straight up the little bridleway in front of you. The path widens to a sandy track with lovely views. Pass the first solar farm which will be on your left and you will finally come to a very wide track. Turn left here and continue past the first left and shortly you will come to another. Take this track that passes some tankers. Just before the gate turn left down a small path between the fields. The solar farm is now to your left once again. Keep on this bridleway until you reach a junction on paths at a house. Keep left, It very wet here and you will need boots as the track has become a little stream. The track runs beside the old railway bed for some way in the trees before opening up onto open heathland and fine views. The second solar farm is to your right here. After some time you will reach a small woodland with badger sets galore, the path becomes wet again soon after with lots of primroses in the bank. At the junction turn right to reach the common once again. There are lots of animals on this walk. Friendly ponies, sheep (lambs soon hopefully), pigs, geese, cows and calves. Sometimes you see a lot of deer depending on the time of day and foxes too. Beautiful birds about, buzzards, skylark, chaffinch, goldfinch and wren.
