Malvies, Olargues

Beautiful walk . Over to Olargues on the cycle track. then up on the Malvies walk and back to Mons. About 26km and 7 hours. Grade C. Lots of wonderful views, butterflies and summer flowers. (the Malvies walk starts in Olargues and is 15km 5h, This walk is listed as difficult but I think apart from the distance its not hard.starting point on the piste vert from the post office) It was cooler today with lots of wind, but the sun was out and everything was clear and fresh.(The Mavies walk starts and finishes in Olargues, its about 15km and takes 5 hours, follow the yellow markers).
The walk goes west on the piste vert for a short distance then turns left up onto the hill, crossing a small road on little tracks, after a while it goes down a small track to a farm and crosses a stream. After a small gate it follows little cobbled paths up to the limestone hills and then onto a wide track at a few houses. The views are lovely up here to the west. At the col a building a smaller track turns left downhill back towards Olargues. This goes through some lovely woods and after a stream and a track that goes up to a larger one it comes out onto a hillside with a lovely little path going to your right. Lovely views of the Caroux here. Then back into Olarguesonce again. This is not a complicated walk, just follow the yellow markers.
