Vialais circuit.

Mons to Le Vialais and back via the Aret and Heric .22km. 6-to 7 h. Grade C/D Start in Mons, parking by the church if you park at the gorge you can take about 2 km off the distance. Follow the red/yellow markers to the gorge and the continue up to the hamlet of Heric. Nice place for a drink. Once in the hamlet turn right and follow the yellow makers to the col du Salis ( very pretty in late spring/early summer as here or later in July/August with heather out). Continue on through the beech woods and rocky cols to Vialais, where there is a lovely grassy glade by the stream to stop for a picnic. Then turn right and continue on to the col de Ourtigas, Once at the road turn right and then right again onto a track leading up to the Montagne d'Aret. Still following the yellow markers along this beautiful ridge (Covered in heather in summer). After about 3km you reach you reach the col du Tirondel, a short way after the col turn right and uphill to join the yellow marked path and turn left onto this path. Reaching the col de l'Airole turn right onto the GR7 and down hill to Heric.(this path is a little rough as you approach Heric. Join the main concert track and return to Mons the same way.
