Le Bousquet-d'orb. Le mendic

Le Bousquet-d'orb. Le mendic. 6km 2H. Blue. The walk description of this one was "easy" but there is one area while in the woods where the little path is steep, rocky and quite slippery, so take care in that area. It's a very nice circuit, starting at the hotel de ville in the centre. There is a small road to your left after parking that runs up to St Martin. Turn left onto the road to La Seguiniere and shortly after a family tomb you will see a small track on your right. This is marked blue and has a wooden sign for Le mendic. The small concrete track passes a few meadows and woods before bearing left up a dry stream bed. Follow this track up the pretty valley path, edged by flowers. The high wooded sides of the valley stretch up to rocky outcrops but the path is easy and not steep. Finally you reach a large concrete water tank where you turn left behind it and make your way through the oak and acacia woods. This is where the path becomes more difficult and broken. Watch your step but the views are lovely as you dip in and out of the woods and cross little streams. The tiny path decends to a small track into the hamlet of La Seguiniere. Pass to the right down a tiny street and you will soon reach the road. You have now joined the st jacques de compostelle 1366,4 km to go if you fancy a real challenge. If it's just the 6km walk that you wish to complete left left onto the road and left again at the junction. You will soon pass another tomb and reach St Martin. Go up the hill to the church and down through the pretty lanes, turning right to walk back to the starting point. There are a number of nice crosses on the way too and lovely views of the surrounding area.
