Woodlands Walk, Verwood

My walk today. Over Dewlands common, Past Bridge Farm and turn right onto the bridleway past Oakfield farm. Straight over the track and down the bridleway past Martin's farm to Woodland, though woodlands and left past Shirehouse stores, take bridleway to the left through Woodlands Park(golf course on either side of track), up the hill to Knob's crook and Monmonth Ash farm. At the junction turn left past the solar farm down past bridge from and over Dewlands common once again. Lots of spring flowers about to come out and lots of beautiful farm animals. Takes a couple of hours with a dog.

A walk to Ringwood through the forest.

A lovely walk to Ringwood and back from Verwood today. Via; Pottern Park, Kings gate, Moors valley, Pine avenue, Castleman trailway and over the river and Millstream at Ringwood. Takes about an hour and a bit each way, depending on how near you are to Pottern Park. Lots of lovely places to stop on the way if you take a hot drink and a spot of lunch or go into the town at Ringwood for lunch there. It's about 5 or 6 miles and takes around an hour or so.

Walk from Pottern park down to the bridge, and cross to the path which goes along the riverbank. Cross the next bridge. Walk the length of the lake to the 3rd bridge. Cross and turn left. The trail goes to the right and up a slope to King Gate.

Opposite here you will see a smaller trail, take it and follow it through the wood. Cross the main track and it will take you through the wood once again. Now turn left and follow this track until it reaches a junction.

Cross this track and take the main track to Pine Avenue. Walk along this track ignoring left and rights until it splits at the top of the hill. Take the right track and it will come to a small down slope trail. This crosses a little road and then turn left onto the Castleman trailway.

Follow this trail to get to the main Ringwood road. Turn right and go under the bridge, Cross the road again and go through the small car park to take the trail over the river and down to the Mill stream. Now turn left to go into Ringwood.
