Sentier Sculpturel de Mayronnes, Aude, France.

A wonderful photography walk today at the Sentier Sculpturel de Mayronnes, it was such fun all enjoying a magical place and each others friendship. Looking forward to a few more being organised during the summer and autumn by members of the Languedoc photography group. The walk takes around 2.30 H and follows yellow markers. It's a little up hill at the start and near the finish but the scenery is beautiful and some great sculptures can be found of which there are around 30 on the circuit. Parking at the north east of the village and picnic benches near the start.

Peyriac-de-Mer, Photography group headland walk, Aude.

A lovely walk with the Languedoc Photography group today at Peyriac-de-Mer. We meet in the village center and walked up through the village and the vineyards to to top of the hill above the village. Here the views of the Etang and the snowy Pyrenees are fantastically beautiful. Our leader with a great local knowledge of the area shared one of her favourite walks, taking us up on a wide stony track through rosemary and thyme in great perfusion. We stood before the lookout tower and drink it all in before making our way back down in the opposite direction to round the shore road on a little sandy track where samphire edged the etang in reds and greens and the water shimmered in the midday sun. By then everyone had food on their minds and soon they were all happily seated around a table in the sun enjoying a meal at a local restaurant organised by the leader. Peyriac-de-Mer, Aude.

Our second walk of the day over on the other side of the Etang. We drove over the causeway to walk along the shores edge and up onto the top where the views are wonderful in all directions. The walk continued by turning left at the top and taking the little path along the edge through the rosemary and then trees to a place where you can if you wish climb up to the high point or continue on to where the path turns left again and then returns down to the Etang once more. The birds were beautiful all around the area. Pelicans, egrets and waders. Beautiful. I was even treated to a few orchids, but mostly it was a day for rosemary, thyme, turpentine and bay; a smelling deliciously in the warm sunshine. 23c. A nice easy circuit with no difficulties, taking about 40 minutes.
