Godshill cricket pitch
Lovely walk from Godshill cricket pitch car park, near Fordingbridge. New Forest. This is a great place for a walk, long or short, with wonderful views and good paths. Take the path to your left from the car park, down into the valley to reach the bridge over the stream. (we picnicked here today). A good walk with small children is to cross the bridge and turn right, walking along the edge of the stream. When you reach the ford, turn right and return to the car park via the path up. For a longer walk continue at the bridge, turning right onto a wider path that takes you to a wood. The wood goes downhill to meet the ford where we crossed. Great walk for dogs.

Rockford common for a beautiful walk with lovely views today. Park at the sandpit (NT car park) near Moyles court and walk up the hill above the sandpit, keeping right at the top. Walk to Appleslade and return on the ridge edge with lovely far reaching views.

Beaulieu house and motor museum
Beaulieu house and motor museum is in a lovely part of the New Forest. If you are visiting this area there are some wonderful walks along the river at Beaulieu or the coast at Lepe. The house is beautifully decked out for Christmas at the moment and there is lots to enjoy for all the family there with only a few visitors about at this time of year.

Hengistbury head.
Hengistbury head always makes a lovely spot for a winter's walk. Great for all the family. Parking is only £1.50 in the winter months and the Hikers cafe and Noddy train are both open for business during the winter. The visitors centre is a good place to go too.
You can walk along the beach, up over the headland or along waters edge of the harbour. Lots of lovely birds there and good sand down at the sandspit where the beach huts are. Here you can return on the Noddy train, something the little ones love to do.
