Aigne, Languedoc.

A lovely walk with The Languedoc Photography group today. We meet up in Aigne and visited the artist/sculpture there, who paints very fine watercolours with beautiful use of moment, light and colours. He took us to see the lovely old church there and after visiting the church we enjoyed some time taking pictures of the village itself. The village is of circle design and has three small, winding lanes that encircle the church and the square.

After visiting the lovely old village we headed up on to the causses above where wintering vines grow in the stone ground. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the region and then picniced under an ancient kennel oak. Here the views down into La Caunette/Minerve where lovely and there were far reaching views up to the Avant Monts, the Pyrenees and coastal areas.  The circle walk came down once again through the vines, passing little caberiels (stone houses), used by peoples long since gone and ended in a lovely view of the village of Aigne itself.

Just as we thought the walk was over we were met by three friendly donkeys and all the dogs who had joined us for the walk seemed very tired and ready for a rest.

We are now looking forward to organising another of these super walk and thank our host for providing us with such a super walk and get together.
