Mons la Trivalle, La Voulte and Beausejour
Mons la Trivalle, La Voulte and Beausejour for our walk this morning. Only a fairly short walk for around an hour or so. 5.5km. Taking the little road beside the church down to La trivalle, then crossing the bridge and taking the little road to your left up the hill and down to La Voulte. The chapel here is 12th century and nestles between the Orb and the jaur where they come together. There was once a castle too, but only the ruins remain on the slopes below the chapel. Now heading back to cross the vineyards on a left turn , (blue marker), you will shortly come to the river Jaur. It's pretty here too and a lovely spot for a picnic. Now head up onto the garrigue where you will find masses of lavender in the springtime. The views of the valley and the Caroux are as delicious as the scents of the plants and herbs here. After reaching the top of the hill pass through the gate and turn right to return to the village. You can either pass the village centre and walk up a small quiet road to reach Mons or take the voie verte to the first bridge, descend to the little road and go up to the car park, then follow the yellow/red and blue signs back to Mons through the lovely woods.
