A circular walk in Moors valley.

A lovely walk to Moors valley from the "dump" car park. Walking straight down from the car park and turning right onto the tree tops trail. Then up to the main path and turning left to the 3 new wooden toys that are on the main trail.

These are really super ones. A crocodile, nest of dinosaur eggs and another nest type one that's more for older children. All great fun and some lovely seating too, for coffee stops and picnics.

After leaving the toys walk straight back up the main track to the car park or on the little path on the right behind the pine trees. Enjoy. We had great fun this morning.

Abbots Well walk

A beautiful walk in the New Forest today. This is one of my favourites, but I did shorten it a little today. Park at Abbots Well and walk down the hill to Ogdens, across the grassland at Hasley hole and over to the woods. Follow the side of the wood until the end. Here I normally go down to Woodsford bottom and through Broomy inclosure to Holly Hatch, but today I turned left and followed the edge of Hasley Inclosure until it crosses Hallickshole hill and then enters Sloden inclosure east of were I normally enter it. I then take the track up to Fritham and at Fritham go back through Amberwood and across Hampton Ridge. It's a great walk with super views, lots of variety and a couple of opportunities to eat at some nice pubs if you don't take a picnic. We enjoyed a picnic while watching the ponies and cattle on the plain and at our coffee stop we saw a lovely deer. It was busy on the ridge today with runners but the forest its self was very peaceful.

A lovely walk at Linford Bottom

A lovely walk at Linford Bottom with my little grandchildren. They loved paddling in the stream too. It's only a short stroll and ideal for little ones. Not a walk to do in wet weather as it can be very muddy there. Park in the car park and walk alongside the woods until you reach a wide area of more heathy ground. Here you will see a little bridge which you then cross. Turn right and either go up into the wood or walk beside the stream until you return to the car park. If the stream is high you can go down to the road but during the summer there is very little water in the stream and you can cross at the car park area. This is a map of our walk.http://www.strollingguides.co.uk/…/newfo…/walks/linford.php…

Stephen Castle walk

Stephen Castle walk, this afternoon. Takes about 25 minutes. Though the rec and turn right. Left past band hut and up the track to join Burrows road. Turn right at the road and go through the gate to Stephens Castle. Turn left and go up the steps. Turn right and walk beside the fence until you reach steps. Go down the small steps to the track and turn right. Keep on this track until you see a gap in the fence on your right. Take this path on your right which passes a bench on your left and a small pond to your right. At the next junction turn left and then right. Follow to the next junction and turn left to reach a little path that runs beside a fence. Turn right and this will bring you back to the rec.
