Verley, near Burley.

A glorious walk this afternoon at Verley, near Burley. It's a simple walk taking around an hour with a lovely mix of open heath, ancient woodland and wonderful view. We saw deer, squirrels, rabbits and lots of New Forest ponies on route. Start from the Verley car park. The first car park on your left after leaving the A 31 at Picket Post, heading towards Burley. Take the footpath to your left and head down to the stream at Ridley bottom. Cross the little bridge and walk into Ridley wood. Keep on this path until it splits. Then turn left and walk to the end of the wood. Join the wider path, turning right to pass Little wood. Turn left around this wood and return on this side of the woods in lovely open heathland.
