A lovely circular walk today. 5.2 miles. Takes 2 to 3 hours. Walking boots needed as it was quite muddy.
Starting at the North cliff Plantation car park and walking down on the main path through the country park. Tehidy woods are quite lovely, good bluebells in the spring I was told by a local. Keep left if you want to keep on the woodland trails or go down to the Rose garden before continuing alongside the golf course until you reach Eastern gate. Cross the road here and continue on the Miners trail. Turn right at the houses and then left and left again to enjoy the lovely trail through Illogan woods. This is a lovely area that used to be mines. Finally you come out onto a row of small miners cottages and turn left to reach Portreath beach.
Beach is lovely and makes a great spot for a picnic.
Now turn left to reach the coastal path. This goes up through a row of houses and follows the bay to ascend the cliff after the houses. You can either turn right to enjoy the headland (Western Hill), or straight on to the top of the cliffs. Now continue towards North Cliffs and Godvery. There are two large dips in the cliffs along this route on Carvannel Downs. When you reach the NT car park turn left up the track to the road and turn right onto the road to reach the car park at Tehidy woods about 50m further up.
We were walking in January and saw lots of beautiful fields of Daffodils.

Chapel Porth, Towan Cross, Porthtowan triangle.
Lovely walk this afternoon from Chapel Porth to Towan Cross and onto Porthtowan before returning along the coastal path on the very windy cliffs.
About 3 miles or so and takes a couple of hours.
Starting at Chapel Porth car park. NT. Free to members or £2 in winter. To start turn up the valley beside the little stream but make sure that you visit the beach either at the start or end of the walk as it's lovely there.
Follow the little stream up to Towan Cross, passing the old mine building on your way. The walk enjoys Chapel combe and comes out in the little hamlet. (There is a shortcut just before you come to the lane). Turn right onto the lane and pass the pub. Just past the pub is a turn to your right it you want a shorter walk take this one up to the Wheal Charlotte).
A little further up the road is another public access lane. Take this and keep left past the NT car park for Wheal Charlotte. The lane goes down to pass the farm and a couple of rows of houses. After the houses turn right onto the coastal path. Lovely views here down to the beach at Porthtowan and the cliffs beyond. Keep on the coastal path all the way back to Wheal Charlotte and down on the zig zag to the car park at Chapel Porth.

Godrevy Point, Navax point and Hudder Down.
Godrevy Point, near Gwithian. 5 miles. 2 to 3 hours.
Starting at the beach car park for Gwithian NT. £2 in the winter or free to members. Tickets need to be scanned here.
Walk up to Godrevy point on the coastal path and around past the lighthouse. Soon you will come to Mutton cove where we counted around 120 seals on the little beach. Continue on around the headland to Navax point and then down to Fishing cove. Here you cross a couple of stone wall steps leading to a little lane. Pass the next NT car park and on to Hells Mouth and Deadmans cove.
You need to return using the same route but once you cross the stone steps to reach the The Knavocks, you can cross the area on the paths between the goorse. You then continue on the coastal path to Mutton cove. Another shortcut can be made back down to the first car park from here if you wish. Otherwise continue around the point to return to the car park.
If you wish to enjoy the beach here there is a beautiful one between Magow Rocks and Godrevy point or after returning to Gwithian go down to cross The Red River on a little bridge and then enjoy the huge expanse of sands the run along this beautiful bay.
