Fritham, New forest.
A lovely 5.5mile walk from Fritham today. It was very cold and breezy but the sun was shining and we even managed a picnic. The walk takes 2.5 hours. It's mostly on tracks or grassy paths but some sections go through the inclosures and after rain as it was today, it can be muddy. The walk starts by parking at The Fritham car park and walking down through the heathland to ragged boys hill and over the bridge to the fostery house, Holly hatch inclosure. Pass through the gates there and up through the forest. Keep right leaving the main track and then head up the small track to join the cycle track. Cross this track and head for the the open heathland of Ocknell Plain. Turn left after the gates and follow this path to Cadman's pool. Cross the track for the car park and continue on the grassy path until you reach a track leading to South Bentley inclosure. Walk through the inclosure crossing the stream after the gates. Turn left to cross another stream at queens north wood and continue on the track past the houses to reach the car park.
