Hengistbury head.

Hengistbury head. A lovely spot with good parking and a great cafe too. It's around £3 for two hours and about £4 for 4 hours parking.

Walk down to the lovely beach where you will find very few others enjoying the mixed sand and pebble beach. Then along the shore past the double dykes to the headland. The views from the top of the headland are wonderful; from Swanage to the Isle of Wight.

If you don't want to walk up onto the head you can walk along the little road beside the harbour. There is another lovely sandy beach with lines of beach huts at the far end and it possible to get the Noddy train (£1.80 adults and half price for children) back to the Hikers cafe and car park. Lots of heather out at the moment too.

There is also an information centre there. A great day out for families or just a lovely walk with your dog. My dog loves the Noddy train and my granddaughter thinks it's well worth the walk over the headland!
