Verwood to Horton common.

Horton Common. About 1.30H to 2H. From Emmanuel Middle School continue towards Dewlands common but turn left before and walk down the road to pass under the old railway bridge.

Pass Bridge farm and when you come to a junction of paths turn left onto a small bridleway that appears to be running with water.

The water comes from a spring further up and the route become dry, but the water is always there whatever the time of year. Soon the path goes through woodland and then out onto the heathland of Horton common.

This is Redman's hill with tumili behind, it's a pretty area of the walk. The path then runs along beside the old railway bed up to a junction of paths. Turn right and continue on a small bridleway  beside the solar farm.

At the next junction turn right and then right onto the main wide track. Now take the second wide track on your right between horse fields.

There were loads of delicious blackberries here, so I stopped and picked a bag full to make crumble with, yummy, my dog loves them too!

The horses are lovely here too and soon come over to say hello, they love having their noses rubbed. Good job it was after I had picked the blackberries!

Now carry on down to the junction where you started and retrace your steps to Dewlands common and Emmanuel. This route can be walked, cycled or you can ride a horse.
