Monmouth Ash farm, Horton Common.

Dewlands common, Redmans hill, Horton common, Monmouth Ash Farm, Remedy oak, Woodlands park area back via Oakfield farm, Bridge farm.

Lovely circular route using mostly bridleways. Walk towards Bridge farm along Horton lane next to Dewlands common. After passing the farm and crossing the bridge over the River Crane you will come to a junction of paths on the corner.

Ignore the path on the left and take the little bridleway that goes uphill to Horton common. You won't find a common up there, just a large solar farm now but the distant views are still lovely, down to the coast and over to the New Forest.

The path now become a wider track and after passing the fields of horses you will come to another junction. Here turn right onto an even wider track and keep on this track until you see a sign for Monmouth ash farm.

Turn left here and immediately right onto a small bridleway. Ignore the two bridleways through the woods to your left, crossing the wide track. Keep on the track, ignoring a footpath to your left too. Soon you will come to a left turn onto a wider track near a farm, you will see two blue bridleway arrows pointing your way.

Ignore other left turns and pass a large farm, joining a tarmac farm road. Very soon you will see a small bridleway to your right at a junction of paths and before the corner with a house.

Follow this pretty path past alpaca, sheep, horses and cows until you come to a house with stables. Join the wider track and go past Oakfield farm.

Now turn left at the next junction and retrace your steps back to the common.

If you want to walk across the common on the way back take the first entrance and follow the path to meet the small dirt road at the junction of Margards lane and Dewlands Road.

Takes about 2 hours from Manor Road so I would say at least an hour from Dewlands common.
