Col du Salis circuit starting from the Gorge d'heric

A very beautiful walk today up the Gorge d'heric, on to Heric 1H and picking up the yellow markers to the col du Salis 1H . This area is beautifully wild with the rushing river below and the tiny old path climbing up through chestnuts, beeches and rocks. Here at the broom covered col you turn up (right) a little path to reach the high wild col de l'Airole Wonderful views of the snow covered Pyrenees from up here. 1H. Now turn right again onto the GR7 (also marked yellow). This old path will take you down through the chestnut woods to reach Heric. Turn left and head back down the gorge track.
