Circuit of Moureze.

A lovely walk at Moureze today. This is a super walk. Not easy as it's quite tricky to climb all the rocks but our 3 year old loved all the scrambling up them. The walk takes around an hour and starts from the village car park who charge 3 euros but also run a lovely information point, clean toilet and a good place for camper vans to park overnight too at 6 euros. Follow the yellow markers into the rocks where you can climb up to a great lookout point if you wish. Follow the yellow markers until you reach another signpost where the route turns right and up towards the muleteers track up the mountain. Turn left here to return to the village. The circuit above takes 3 hours. The area is really quite amazing with some wonderful views. Pretty little village too with a couple of good restaurants.

Mons la Trivalle, Herault.

A beautiful walk from Mons (Mons la Trivalle). Up on the old blue triangular marked path that follows the stream up from the village then onto the red/yellow path. As the path bears left take the blue line marked route (it's not a path, just a scramble up the rocks of the stream that goes all the way up to the col above). This route passes some old mines but don't do this walk if you have difficulties with climbing). Return on the yellow then red/yellow route from the top that goes left. You can also return on the gorge side down the red route if you want a really tricky route.About 3 hours if you do the whole route. Or just go up and back for the beautiful views.

Along the River Orb at Roquebrun.

A lovely walk along the River Orb at Roquebrun today. Easy walking on a track that runs alongside the river, south from the beach car park. Super walk for dogs who enjoy a good swim. Marked blue as it's part of a longer walk that can be enjoyed from Roquebrun.

Taussac, Herault.

. A short walk of around 6km. Very pretty with lots of wonderful views across to the col of the 13 winds, the back of the Caroux and down into the Herpian valley. This lovely walk starts by parking in the village of Taussac next to the old school. Then walk up to the beautiful old abbey/church and through the arch to gentle climb the hill on scented, flower covered slopes. The path is marked with a yellow marker here. At a junction with a small cross keep right and along the ridge behind the rock formations. This is a lovely path with wonderful views and lots of dappled shade from the chestnuts and oaks. When you reach the road turn right down the track just before the road itself. This track zigzags down to reach the valley bottom and a small stream. Keep on this track all the way back to Taussac. Lovely views towards the col of the 13 winds and the little hamlets above. Allow 1.5 H to 2 Hours for this walk especially if you want to enjoy the wild flowers, views and a picnic.

Mons, Mons La trivalle, Herault.

A short but very pretty evening walk around the village of Mons (the upper village of Mons La Trivalle) and though the woods on the blue and yellow/red paths.

Villecelles, Near Lamalou-les -Bains, Herault.

A lovely short walk of about 4.5 km. Takes around an hour but we took much longer enjoying a picnic and a coffee break by the stream. Take the town center bypass around Lamalou to the junction where the road turns right on the D32. Don't turn right, go straight up the tiny lane opposite and follow the bends around to reach a road going straight up to a no through road. Before you reach this you will find a parking area on your right. After parking go straight up the hill on the little track to reach the hamlet of Villecelles. Now turn right. There is a small car park here too (another good place to park). Now follow the yellow markers. Turn right down a lovely stone path to reach the old washing area for Villecelles. Cross the pretty stream(waterfalls here). Soon you will reach another pretty hamlet. Le Fraisse. Turn left here. If you feel like a much longer walk keep right following the red/white route also yellow, It's part of a 12km walk but would be around 7 - 8 km from here. Keeping left go up on a wider track through lovely woods of chestnuts to reach a crossroads. At the crossroads turn left on a red/white path heading towards Lamalou. This is a lovely path, that all too quickly returns to the little road. We turned left and continued on the road back to Villecelles (don't cross the road to continue on the GR). Go through the very pretty hamlet and back down the path beside the little car park.

Rockford Common from Linford Bottom.

Linford bottom and over Rockford common. Allow a couple of hours for a good wander and picnic. Easy walking. Wonderful views. Varied walk circular walk. From the car park walk up through the forest, keeping left as you climb up to reach the main track. Turn left and then take the track up to the heathland/grassland on the top. Keep right along the grassy path to reach Red shoot plain on Rockford common. Turning left take the Big Whitemoor bottom path with fine views over to Somerley house and Godshill. Following the little stream until it reaches a house. Turn left here and head up to a house called Sorrel wood. Pass the house with it to your right and then keep on the track leading away from the house. The track joins a tarmac road. Keep following this, then left down the hill past the house to your left. Soon you will reach the car park once more.
