Redman's hill, Horton common.

A beautiful evening walk over Dewlands common, down Horton Lane to Bridge farm, turning left at the junction of paths just before Oakfield farm. This little bridleway is always wet as there is a spring about half way up the hill. Lots of primroses along the way and look out for badgers and deer here. After passing through the pretty woodland area you will reach an area of heathland under the hill. The bridleway now the track bears right, running alongside the old railway bed. Keep right at the house, the path is wet here again with another small stream on the path. There are a number of solar farms out here now, but lots of horses, swallows, buzzards and foxes too. The solar farm is to your right. The path reaches a wider track.Turn right and pass some tanks. When you reach a much wider track turn right onto this and keep going until you reach the main right turn, there are some lovely horses up here. Turn right here, this will take you back to Oakfield farm. The solar farm will be on your right. Lovely views up here for miles around. One of the best views in Verwood. When you reach the junction keep straight on past the fields of lambs and over the river Crane. A good place to park for this walk is near to the schools in Howe Lane, the walk will take just over an hour from here.
