Les balcons d'Arles. Around Colombières-sur-Orb. 5km around 2 hours. Fairly easy. This is a lovely little walk on blue markers. One of our local favourites. We start on the Voie verte where there is a small parking area next to the old station building. The route starts by heading down the little road to a tiny cobbled path, edged by stone walls. This path bears right along a little path a short distance from the river. After some distance the route widens, turns right and goes uphill to cross the main road. Taking the La Barriere road opposite to your right you will soon reach the chateau. At the chateau wall you will see a small path leading around the back. Do have a look down this little path, there's a lovely view of the back of this pretty chateau and the lovely watch tower behind. The footpath is currently being restored by the young people of Colombières-sur-Orb. Now return to the little road and continue on to the upper village. At the old blacksmiths take the little path past the allotments to Le Theron. Turn right and continue on the upper road towards the church. Now turn left into the forest and onto the gorge. Finally reaching a junction, turn right to return to the village. Turn left at the main road and cross the bridge then the road to take the little road down to Les claps. The route twists its way through the tiny lanes and cobbled paths where fast, clear water always runs along the lanes to feed the gardens here. Soon you will be back at the car.
