Cambon

Lovely walk from Cambon today. About 8km. 2H. Starting from the village centre. There are two car parking areas near to the river. Walk through the village and out past the camper van parking. Now walk along the the little path towards Pont d'Agout following the yellow marker, through the woods to the road and back down again to your right. In the little hamlet turn left (leave the yellow markers) and pass the cowsheds, then on up to the road once more. At the road turn right and continue up hill, it's a very quiet road and there are lots of wild strawberries and raspberries to enjoy as you wander up. Once you reach a wide bend in the road turn left and continue on the track up hill. The track takes you to a junction where you can follow the yellow marker to your right on a grassy track up to a wonderful viewpoint. From here you can enjoy all the Avant Monts and the valley below. It's a good place for a picnic too. Now return to the junction and continue down the yellow path on a wide track through the forest. The track is part of the Wind Turbine walk and returns on a track through meadows with more lovely views of the countryside. Lots of wild flowers and butterflies up here. The path eventually joins the road just past the first house.Turn right and you will very soon be back in Cambon. Cambon is lovely with a pretty park, picnic area, river and play area. It's about 10c cooler up there than in the Orb valley below. Lots of lovely walks on the new OT notice board in the car park near the church.
