Centeilles, Siran. 5.8km/ 1.30h / blue. This was is intended to be started from the car park at the lovely chapel Notre-Dame de Centeilles but our route though to it was blocked due to flooding in Siran so we started the walk on the road/D56 north out of Siran where the route slips onto the road for just a few yards and we found unofficial parking nearby. We crossed the bridge and took the blue marked track up through vineyards to reach a small road (the one that we should have come in on) keeping left on the road we reached the junction for the chapel and took the short diversion to it. I was happily surprised to see and hear a group of young nuns singing outside in the entrance porch. They were singing so happily and obviously practising for something special that I left them in peace to enjoy their special day rather than taking their offer of going inside (now I have the excuse to go back and do the longer walk from here). I took the small path back down to the road and turned left. After a little distance the route turns right to take a small footpath between the vineyards. The path crosses the little road and heads up the hill and into the pine woods which smell wonderful of pine and thyme. This track wanders down hill, keeping right at a junction and back to the car. It was badly flooded today but still very lovely. I'm sure the views would be wonderful on a fine, clear day.
