Lamalou-les-Bains

Beautiful walk above Lamalou-les-Bains, through the woods and down to Le Poujol-sur-orb, then back along the voie verte.

This is an easy walk of around 7km. It starts by parking in the station car park at Lamalou. Walk past the lovely church of St Pierre-du-Rhedes. Very soon you will come to (50m) a blue marker. Take this route to your right and follow the blue markers through the woods to join the GR (red/white). Turn left onto this and continue to the top track where several routes converge. Turn right and then left at the green water container. Now to right again and follow the track as it curves around the hillside. Ignore the left track and continue to reach red/white and yellow markers that go down the hill to your left. Follow this lovely old path down to the fields and beautiful views. The track goes down to Poujol on the same markers. At the village car park keep left on the road above the voie verte and drop down onto it at the old station. There is a good children's playground here and an outdoor cafe in the summer. Keep on the voie verte to reach Lamalou. Takes about 2 hours.
