Maroul. This is a lovely short walk. 1.5km, Blue markers 45 minutes but we took 2h.30! Mind you we had a 2 year old, a dog, coffee stop and a picnic to enjoy, then we stopped for quite a long time at the children's playground. Park at the car park next to the bridge as you enter the village(It even has a toilet). Now head down to the first waterfall. The next part is a little tricky as there is a fairly steep little path. At the bottom is a bridge, don't cross it just yet. Turn right and have a look at the waterfall from the bottom first. Now cross the bridge and carefully walk along the metal ramp. End the end is a spring with a very irony flavoured water, it tastes rather fizzy to me too. Now go back to the bridge. There is a lovely picnic table here and several wooden benches along the way. Keep going on up the valley to the next waterfall. It's another big one. Cross the next bridge and you will come to carpets of beautiful snowdrops. If you want to see the surrounding mountains there is a path to your right that takes you out into the open. A little way up you will come to several more waterfalls and a stone dragon. The Dragon of the Espinouse. Finally you come to the old washing area and another nice picnic area. Turn right up through the village and enjoy the old church, pretty houses and if you have small children with you a little playground. The Auberge is very good here, but closed during the winter months.
