Puissalicon

Puissalicon. 7km. 2H Yellow markers but not clearly marked up. There are three walks from Puissalicon.

The first is a short 6km/1.45m walk around the village, vineyards, 12th century church and Chateaux and ruins of a windmill.

The 2nd walk extends further south taking in all of the above, a few of the crosses and some of the seven hills that surround the village.

This is the walk that we did although we cut short the most northern part of the walk reducing it to 7km instead of 10 km/3H. The last walk is 16 km and 5H. Park in the centre of the village, near the large tower.

Walk down to the second right hand junction and leave the village to walk next to the ruins of the windmill.

Turn left to reach a small road where cross straight over and head uphill. Turn left and then right to go down hill once again over the other side of the small puech.

At the road turn right and soon your route takes a left Continue on this good track road for some distance. Then turn left off onto a another track at a cross and ruins.

The track goes left once again and continues for some distance before reach a road. Turn left and very soon right onto another track. Continue on this track and then tack two left to reach another wide track. After some time on this track you will come to wide track on your right going uphill to a small old building.

Continue on over the hill and turn left past a collection of animal buildings. Left once more at a wide track and then right. Keep going with just once more small cink in the route before reaching the village. Here the normal route heads right around the village but we went straight up into the old village to complete the part that we had missed when we started.

Enjoy the chateaux buildings and old walls of this fascinating old village before returning to the car park.
