Montagne de ste-croix, Malvies, Olargues.

Olargues, montagne de ste-croix, le Pancoulet, le Boulissos, Les Bories de Malvies , la Roudoniere. 10km. 3h. This walk starts in Olargues on the Malvies route, marked yellow. Parking in the village and heading west on the voie verte you come to a left turn up into the chestnut forest. (I found some wild strawberries here) The path follow a little track up to the Malvies road and first crosses it then turns left before heading back up on a right turn. When you reach the road once again turn right up to the cross and bearing left down to a bend in the road, here take the forest road to your left marked with an arrow in pink. Follow this track all the way to a junction of tracks. Lovely views of the Jaur valley and the mountains of the Espinouse and Caroux here. At the junction keep left unless you want to visit the top of the montagne de ste-croix. Keep along this track until you reach a junction of tracks. Turn left onto the yellow marked track once again (this is where the Malvies route rejoins). Go down this forest road for some way until it turns right onto a little path over a rocky area, la Roudoniere. I founds some lovely little wild cherries here. The path is fairly steep and rocky so if you don't fancy it or it's too hot, keep on the road back to Olargues. Lovely views on this path of the walk too.
